Dalton – The Awesome is well… Awesome!

Those zombies sure are persistent aren’t they? In Dalton – THE AWESOME , our hero is pitted against the endless hordes of the undead to achieve maximum awesome-ness. Dalton tours all around the world from New York City to Cairo, Egypt. Boasting simple and exceedingly addictive gameplay, this game will keep users amused for hours.

In this two dimensional run and jump adventure, Dalton is chased by a constantly refreshing pack of brain hungry zombies who come from all directions. Dalton starts out with three hearts, which disappear quickly if you aren’t careful. Once the hearts are gone, Dalton stops running and the zombies get an easy meal.

Gameplay is both extreme and extremely simple, as users only need to tap the screen to send Dalton jumping into the air. The longer the screen is held the higher Dalton goes, but there is of course a limit. There are several reasons that Dalton will need to jump, perhaps most importantly the incoming zombies. Also, the game randomly adds gaps and elevation changes to the path Dalton is running on.

In the lower right corner of the screen, users will see a frowning zombie with a multiplier to the immediate right. This represents the number of zombie souls that players put to rest during gameplay. Dalton can do this in a number of ways, most easily landing on top of them. This is also where power-ups come in to play. The newest power-up is a favorite of mine, the chainsaw.

When power-ups are activated, players have a limited amount of time to take advantage and destroy some zombies. This short duration can be extended by spending your zombie soul points between rounds. Use the points wisely by learning which power-ups you like the most, as they are difficult to come by during the first few runs.

What I liked: Simple graphics and gameplay make this game easy to pick up and start playing. The Doodle Jump-esque backgrounds are entertaining and offer some spice to the potential of monotony.

What I didn’t like: Over the hours I spent playing the game, the app crashed twice. I’m sure the developers are working on resolving these issues soon.

To buy or not to buy: The game is free for a limited time so definitely pick it up, but even if it cost $0.99 I would still recommend buying it. The game provides hours of entertainment and makes players want to get their scores higher and higher.

CAIRO: Egyptian Mediterranean ports witnessed a notable tourism increase, said the head of the tourism revival body, Amr el-Ezabi.

Meanwhile, big tourist ships have anchored at Egyptian ports and there have been many tourists from different parties of the world in the past few weeks, said the internal tourism sector chairman Magdi Selim.

He added that the Pacific Princess ship with 882 tourists anchored at Port Said.
