Aruba Dive Shop Owner Was Last Person to See Robyn Gardner

The last person to see Robyn Gardner and Gary Giordano together was the owner of a dive shop in Aruba who noticed the car off on a rocky point of the island which he thought was an unlikely place for snorkeling.

Gardner, 35, has since disappeared and is presumed by the police in Aruba to be dead.

Giordano, 50, was sentenced this week to stay in a prison in Aruba for another 16 days while police invesitgate what they say are apparent gap in time between when witnesses saw the pair on the beach and timing Giordano gave Gardner when he reported missing.

The owner of the dive shop at the Reef Bar & Grill Rum, who wished to remain anonymous, said he saw the pair aftenoon that Gardner has disappeared. He said he noticed the tattoo of her shoulder --- patttern a leopard print - but sees no unusual behavior.

He later saw the car rental Giordano at the end of a rocky path leading to the ocean, and said he thought at the time how it was rare to see people snorkeling there.

Stein said that there were perceived deficiencies in the time between when witnesses saw the pair on the beach and timing Giordano gave Gardner when he reported missing.

Aruba prosecutors to focus on the history of Gary Giordano

Before a hearing on Monday, Stein said prosecutors would focus on the disturbing story of Giordano with women, including two orders made against him and the allegations of domestic violence.

Giordano's second wife, Connie Klein, told ABC News that their marriage was short and ended four years ago because of marital problems, and that the police were called at home on one occasion.

Police records of Cornelius, North CarolinaShow that Klein called the cops on Giordano, after he came home drunk and aggressive of a restaurant in 2007. She said the cops Klein was "in his face," arguing with her. In his rage, he threw his mail in the trash and slammed a pie in the sink. Giordano slammed the front door of the a neighbor's house, where the police advised him to spend the night, the report said.

In addition, court documents obtained by ABC News show allegations of a violent assault by an ex-girlfriend.

"We argued about her sexual past as a swinger. He started to strangle me with both hands. He then pushed his fingers down my throat.I was struggling and gagging, "the girlfriend testified in court documents.

Carrie Emerson, another woman who has had contact with Giordano, told ABC News Giordano also offered to take her to Aruba around the same time he called Gardner Island, and to a photo session with the Emerson's daughter there, a model.

Leinster Bay

Although located on the north coast of St. John, USVI, sailing the bay is an easy to Tortola, however, be sure to check with customs if you come from BVI. This well-protected, picturesque bay Watermelon Cay on one end and the Annaberg Sugar Mill ruins on the southwest corner.Land your dingy on the beach of fine sand, and after making sure it is secure, snorkel along the shore and out to Watermelon Cay. The beds of the right bank are home to sea horses and a variety of hamlets. Follow the rocky coast to the Cay. Schools of grunts, trunkfish, plaice and parrots live in the reef. On one occasion we came across a field of about 100 rusty orange starfish. On another trip, we had the joy of diving with sea turtles and rays, as well as face to face with a moray eel. The bay is very calm and ideal for the novice snorkeler on a charter sailing.
