Walsh split from 'yesterday's men'
POP mogul Louis Walsh has said he ditched manband Boyzone because they're "yesterday's men".The X Factor judge dropped his act earlier this month amid reports that his stormy relationship with lead singer Ronan Keating had hit an all-time low.
And Mayo man Louis, 58, doesn't mince his words, insisting the group he put together in 1993 are now FINISHED .
Louis said: "They're like Blue - yesterday's men. There's too much competition for them.
"You have to have something amazing as there's so much talent out there, JLS, One Direction, Westlife, The Wanted."
The news of Louis' decision to quit as Boyzone's manager emerged two weeks ago but Ronan, Shane, Keith and Mikey are adamant their career is far from over.
Keith, 36, insisted: "Boyzone are still flying, there are no issues as far as I'm concerned.Louis does his own thing and we're all busy doing our own things and the record company is really enthusiastic and planning a new CD."
Shane added: "I've loved and respected Louis since he started with us in 1993 and I still will even if he has gone his separate ways."
But in an interview with Heat magazine Louis revealed he left as things haven't been the same since the death of band member Stephen Gately.
He said: "Boyzone can carry on, but it wasn't working. It was great while it lasted, but it's time for me to move on."
